Betty's Daughter Arts Collaborative is a cultural arts direct action group activating art as a tool for self-actualization, transformation, and social action. Betty's Daughter Arts Collaborative is a cultural arts direct action group dedicated to "creating radical expressiveness in community". Betty's Daughter collaborates with individuals, artists, groups, change-makers, non-profits, collectives, and cbo's that work from a sound, progressive socio-political platform and seek to activate art as a tool for individual transformation and justice.
Our programs: Gumbo YaYa/ or this is why we speak in tongues, In the People's Hands Art and Activism Project, Body Ecology: Performing Activism, along with our numerous creative outreach workshops, trainings, and performances facilitate processes for sustained engagement around issues directly affecting the holistic empowerment of local communities.
Some of our collaborators struggle to gather the resources to sustain cultural arts direct action projects in their communities. Through the "Art for the People" initiative, Betty's Daughter is able to offer services at a reduced or free rate to grassroots organizations. Sustain "radical expressiveness in community" today and support "Art for the People".
